Halo Sleep Sacks
"The
Wearable Blanket"

Available

Fluffy quilts, comforters, pillows
and bumper pads may look cute in a crib, but they don't provide
the safest sleeping environment for babies. As many as 1/3 of baby
deaths attributed to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) may be
caused by suffocation in soft bedding, according to the Consumer
Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
Parents have been getting
the message about removing loose blankets from the crib, but are
at a loss for a better solution to keeping their babies comfortable.
Now, with a simple crib
makeover, parents and caregivers can convert a baby's sleeping area
into a safer, healthier environment using the first product ever
endorsed by the SIDS Alliance (now FirstCandle)- the HALO
SleepSack wearable blanket.
This wearable blanket takes the place of loose bedding that can
bunch up around a baby's nose and mouth or cover the head.
Designed in accordance with CPSC warnings about the dangers of
soft bedding in cribs, as well as blanket-free sleeping suggestions
from the SIDS Alliance and its Back-To-Sleep partners, the HALO
SleepSack wearable blanket has a sleeveless, sack-like design
that keeps fabric away from the face and head. It is easy to slip
on over regular sleepwear and the inverted zipper makes diaper changing
simple.
"What we hear from parents is
'Finally, a way to keep our baby cozy without a loose blanket,'
" says William Schmid, who founded Halo Innovations, Inc. after
losing a daughter to SIDS. "The SleepSack wearable blanket
keeps babies warm and comfortable, and gives parents and caregivers
some peace of mind."
The "Back To Sleep" logo is embroidered on the front of
the HALO SleepSack to reinforce the recommendation that
babies always sleep on their backs.
Babies should sleep on a firm mattress,
in a safety-approved crib, with no loose or soft bedding in the
crib with them. This includes blankets, quilts, comforters, pillows,
bumper pads, positioners, stuffed toys, wedges or any other soft
product.
